Maker Moves Lunch and Learn with BaconAstro and Touch Grass Textiles
Two ex-techies walked away from their screens and into their crafts. Now they're building real businesses: a needle felting kit line and a line of handwoven textiles and mini loom kits and they're sharing everything they've figured out so far.Allison Dupuis (BaconAstro) and Sharon Brener (Touch Grass Textiles) will walk through what it actually takes to go from hobbyist to maker business:
building a brand that's specific enough to stick,
designing products you can make more than once, and
getting your first customers without losing your mind.
They'll cover what transferred from their tech careers, what didn't, and what they're still figuring out. Stick around after for hands-on demos of needle felting and weaving, and bring your questions.
